Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chunks
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a light pan over medium heat until nutty and amber. Cool 10 min.
  2. Whisk browned butter with both sugars, then eggs and vanilla.
  3. Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate.
  4. Refrigerate dough overnight (worth it).
  5. Scoop onto lined trays, bake at 375°F for 11–13 minutes until edges set.
  6. Finish warm cookies with flaky sea salt.
